March 17, 2025

Biocomp Nepal Pvt. Ltd., in partnership with People in Need Nepal and CLEAN UP Nepal, proudly launched its state-of-the-art plastic recycling facility in the Special Economic Zone, Simara, Nepal. This initiative is part of the RIVER+ program under the Plastic Free Rivers and Seas for South Asia (PLEASE) Project, implemented by the South Asia Cooperative Environment Programme (SACEP).

Turning Waste into Value At this cutting-edge facility, low-grade plastic waste collected from rivers, industries, and landfills is transformed into high-quality composite boards through a five-step process: These durable and sustainable composite boards serve as an eco-friendly alternative to plywood, offering innovative solutions for furniture, construction, and beyond. By repurposing waste into valuable resources, this facility plays a crucial role in strengthening Nepal’s waste recovery and recycling infrastructure. A huge congratulations to Biocomp Nepal and all partners for this groundbreaking initiative! Together, we are paving the way for a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future
