The kick-off meeting to officially launch the technical assistance for the "Preparation of the Plastic Waste Inventory of Nepal" under the World Bank-funded PLEASE Project, implemented by SACEP, was held virtually today. The meeting gathered key stakeholders, including the National Focal Point of SACEP in Nepal the Ministry of Forests and Environment (MoFE), the Department of Environment (DoE), the World Bank team, and new partners from AVNI Ventures and Resource Advance Team.
This initiative follows the agreement signed on 7th October 2024 between SACEP and the Consultant. It aims to conduct a comprehensive study on plastic production, waste generation, and disposal across Nepal.
During today's meeting, all stakeholders expressed their shared commitment to the project, underscoring the importance of tackling the growing plastic waste crisis in Nepal.
This collaboration underscores SACEP's strong commitment to reducing plastic pollution and promoting sustainable waste management practices across the region.
