The Director General, Dr. Md. Musumur Rahman and Head of Chancery, Ms. Jacintha S. Tissera paid a courtesy call on Admiral Prof. Jayanath Colombage, Foreign Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 25 October 2021 at the Ministry.
Dr. Rahman presented the salient features of SACEP and also highlighted the importance of enhanced regional cooperation to help address the environmental challenges faced by the Member States.
Admiral Prof. Jayanath Colombage expressed his full support for the efforts taken by SACEP emphasizing on conservation of environment and addressing the global challenges of Climate Change. Both parties exchanged views on the Side Events organized by Government of Sri Lanka and SACEP during the UNFCCC COP26 which is scheduled to be held in Glasgow, UK and anticipated high level participation.
Also, the delegation of SACEP met Mr. A. Senanayake, State Secretary of the Ministry of Regional Cooperation and briefed on the collaborative activities carried out by SACEP in the South Asian Region. Mr. Senanayake offered his fullest support in this regard.
