At the UNFCCC, COP 29, in Baku, Azerbaijan Mr. Norbu Wanchuk, the newly appointed Director General of SACEP met with Ms. Dechen Tsering, Regional Director of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) for Asia and the Pacific, to discuss strengthening their partnership.
Mr. Wanchuk expressed his gratitude for UNEP’s continued support to SACEP, noting, “UNEP’s collaboration has been instrumental in advancing sustainable development in South Asia.” Ms. Tsering reaffirmed UNEP’s commitment, stating, “We look forward to working with SACEP under Mr. Wanchuk’s leadership to drive impactful regional environmental initiatives.”
The meeting highlighted a shared vision for tackling challenges such as climate change and pollution through enhanced cooperation.
