Director-General Ambassador M. Ashraf Haidari Joins the Honorable Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena and Other Dignitaries to Deliver Remarks at the Launch of SARNET

Director-General Ambassador M. Ashraf Haidari joined the Honorable Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena and other dignitaries to deliver remarks at the launch of the South Asia Rainwater Harvesting Network (SARNET).
From a regional perspective in light of the environmental work done by SACEP, he welcomed the vision and mission of SARNET. "If water is no longer a commodity but life itself, we must join hands across the region to conserve it, including by harvesting rainwater for use at home and sharing across the region," said the Director-General.
He expressed SACEP's full support for the following key objectives of SARNET:
- To function as a repository of information and experience on RWH, networking with RWH promoting organizations/institutions, private sector, and individual experts in the South Asia Region;
- To strength a regional rainwater network to coordinate the identification and evaluation for RWH technologies with the purpose of promoting best practices in rainwater management;
- To support effective advocacy towards governments and donor agencies;
