World Bank delegation visited SACEP Secretariat office on 14th May 2019 and met Dr. Abas Basir, Director General of SACEP. Dr. Abas Basir welcomed the delegation and briefly explained about the priority areas of work of SACEP such as Climate Change, Waste Management, Bio Diversity, Sustainable Consumption and Production and Air Quality. He hoped that SACEP and World Bank could work together on the areas of mutual interests.
Mr. Andrew Goodland, Program Leader (Sustainable Development Group), of World Bank, explained the areas of work, mechanism of funding and also about the current programmes implemented by his office in Colombo in three South Asian countries namely Sri Lanka, Maldives and Nepal.
Both the organizations agreed to share more detailed information related to ongoing programmes and projects and to work on a way forward for a fruitful future collaboration.
