Join PLEASE HACK for our rivers and seas, to create innovative solutions and shape a cleaner, greener future for our planet!

January 24, 2025

The Plastic Free Rivers and Seas for South Asia (PLEASE) project proudly launched the 'PLEASE Hack' event on 21 January 2025. This innovative initiative, driven by youth, is implemented by the South Asia Co-operative Environment Programme (SACEP), which is funded by the World Bank and supported by UNOPS.

Acknowledging the critical role of young people in addressing regional challenges, the PLEASE Hack aims to inspire individuals aged 18 to 30 from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka to develop creative solutions to combat plastic pollution in South Asia rivers and seas.

The submission period for innovative concept notes is open from 21 January to 13 February. Participants in the PLEASE Hack will benefit from access to international and national guest speakers, knowledge-sharing sessions, and expert-led workshops on technical and presentation skills. The winning teams will receive recognition for their contributions and substantial cash prizes.
