The National Stakeholder Consultation Workshop for Plastic Free Rivers and Seas for South Asia project was held on 06 July 2022 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Dr Masumur Rahman Director General of South Asia Cooperative Environment Programme (SACEP) delivered the welcome remarks and Dr. Anil Jasinghe, Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Government of Sri Lanka and NFP of SACEP was present as the Chief guest.
Mr. Wasantha Dissanayake Additional Secretary, Environment Policy & Planning, Ministry of Environment, Government of Sri Lanka, Dr. Asferachew Abate, the task team leader of the World Bank for PLEASE Project and Mr. Cyrill Gutsch, Founder of PARLEY for the Oceans along with other participants representing government, private sector, international organizations NGOs, plastic recyclers, media, academia and civil society were present in the workshop.
