Dr. Abas Basir, Director General and Ms. Jacintha S. Tissera, Head of Chancery of SACEP met H.E. Mr. Omar Abdul Razzak, Ambassador of Maldives in Sri Lanka on 23rd of September 2019 at the Embassy. Dr. Abas Basir congratulated H.E. Mr. Omar Abdul Razzak as the new Ambassador of Maldives in Sri Lanka and wished him success in his new mission. Dr. Basir briefed the Ambassador of the ongoing activities of SACEP and thanked Government of Maldives for its active roles and engagement as a Member States of SACEP and SASP. Dr. Basir further emphasized on the upcoming 15th Meeting of the Governing Council (GC) of SACEP which will be held back to back with the 6th Inter-governmental meeting of Ministers of the South Asian Seas Programme which is the principle review and deliberative body of SACEP, responsible for determining its policy and programmes represented by Ministerial portfolio.
H.E. Mr. Omar Abdul Razzak warmly welcomed the delegation of SACEP and thanked the Director General for enlightening regarding the role of SACEP in the South Asian Region.
