Dr. Md. Masumur Rahman, Director General and Ms. Jacintha S. Tissera, Head of Chancery met Mr. Bishwash Bhatta, Charge d’ Affairs of the Embassy of Nepal in Sri Lanka on 08 October 2021. Mr. Bishwash Bhatta congratulated Dr. Md. Masumur Rahman as the newly appointed Director General of SACEP and wished him success in his new tenure. They discussed about the ongoing activities of SACEP and Dr. Masumur Rahman thanked Government of Nepal for its continuous support extended to SACEP since its inception.
Dr. Rahman further highlighted regarding SACEP’s participation at the upcoming 26th Conference of Parties (COP26) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change as well as the implementing of The World Bank and Parley for the Oceans funded project titled Plastic Free Rivers and Seas for South Asia (PLEASE).
Mr. Bishwash Bhatta warmly welcomed the delegation of SACEP and thanked the Director General for enlightening the active role of SACEP in the field of environment in the South Asian Region.
