Dr. Md. Masumur Rahman, Director General of South Asia Cooperative Environment Programme (SACEP) is leading SACEP's Delegation and attending the first day of the resumed fifth session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA 5.2) organized by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in Nairobi, Kenya on 28 February 2022.
Last week was busy with the Open-ended Committee of Permanent Representatives (OECPR) working into the early hours of the mornings to finalize a number of draft resolutions for consideration at UNEA 5.2 including on sustainable nitrogen management, the future of the Global Environment Outlook (GEO), plastics, animal welfare-environment and sustainable development nexus, and much more. SACEP is committed to implement it's mandate on Environment in the South Asia region.
