Ms. Rokeya Khaton, the Director General of the South Asia Co-operative Environment Programme (SACEP), paid a courtesy visit to H. E. Major General (R) Umar Farooq Burki, HI (M), the High Commissioner of the High Commission of Pakistan in Sri Lanka on November 28, 2023.
During the meeting, the High Commissioner extended congratulations to Ms. Rokeya Khaton on her appointment as the Director General of SACEP and commended SACEP for its proactive initiatives in promoting regional coordination and addressing pressing environmental issues in the South Asian region. The discussions encompassed an overview of SACEP's current activities and its work programme.
Ms. Rokeya Khaton expressed gratitude to the Government of Pakistan for its active role and engagement as a Member State of both SACEP and SASP. The dialogue underscored the collaborative efforts and shared commitment towards addressing environmental challenges in the South Asian context.
